About this event

Come join Wandering Wednesdays at Folsom Lake for a 6-7 mile, 525' gain loop hike followed by lunch, brunch or libations at Flower Farms Cafe at 9280 Horseshoe Bar Rd, Loomis.

We'll start at Sterling Pointe Equestrian Staging Area and hike down to lake level where we will walk the first half of the hike on a trail on the lake bed which will be covered with water in the months to come. The turn around point may cause some scrambling to get up to the higher, Pioneer Express, trail as each year the connector trails change due to water coverage. The outward riverbed trail will be fairly flat then the return Pioneer Express Trail will be up & down rollers with about a 525' total gain. We will break near the bottom of "The Rock" on the way out and again on top of "The Rock" on the return.

We will follow the hike with lunch at the Flower Farm Cafe for those who'd like to join us. It has outdoor seating in a quaint garden area. A cafe that everyone should patronize at least once! More info below. PLEASE DO NOT BE A NO SHOW! We will meet at Sterling Pointe Equestrian Staging Area at 9:00 am. We will start the hike at 9:05 am. This is a weather permitting hike. Light rain is a go! Heavy or Constant Rain cancels!

Things to bring; plenty of water, comfortable shoes, appropriate clothes for the weather, an energy snack, electrolytes and an adventurist attitude. This hike will be about 3 hours, maybe a little longer depending on the group.

We follow the "Leave no trace only footprints" policy.

Thanks for helping me get off the couch today! Happy Trails!!!
