December 2026 WOS Program with Jeanette Voelm:
Come, explore, and remember some of the teachings of Thich Nhat Hahn, Vietnamese Buddhist Monk. Know as the Father of Mindfulness, a Peace Activist, author and poet (over 130 published books). We will experience together some of the verses he promotes in daily life experiences (i.e. waking up, looking in the mirror, washing your hands, etc.), verses for meditation (i.e. sitting down, adjusting meditation posture), verses for eating mindfully (i.e. contemplating your food, finishing your meal), and verses for other daily activities (i.e. gardening, driving the car). Exploring walking meditation (peace is in every step).
About our speaker: I have been and continue to be a seeker of spiritual truths and experiences most of my life. My professional background was pediatric Occupational Therapy. I continue to do healing sessions using craniosacral and energy techniques, as well as singing bowls. I have attended many spiritually related workshops and retreats here in the Sacramento area, at Esalen Institute, Mt. Shasta area, camping in the woods, and swimming with dolphins, etc. Thich Nhat Hahn's incredible works have always appealed to me. They are simple and easy to do, thus making them easy to incorporate into daily experiences.
Women of Spirit's Mission Statement: To provide a safe environment for all women to connect in a deeper way regardless of religious affiliations. We acknowledge that we are both teacher and student. Together we transform lives to make a positive difference in the world as we love, serve, and remember.
