For more than 35 years, The Slackers have been one of the most respected and enduring names in American ska and rocksteady. Since forming in New York City in 1991, the band has built an international following through relentless touring, an impressive catalog of 16 albums, five EPs, and countless singles, all while maintaining a sound that effortlessly blends ska, reggae, soul, and vintage Jamaican influences.

Described by The New York Times as “the sound of New York,” The Slackers have earned widespread critical acclaim for their unmistakable musical identity and electrifying performances. Their combination of soulful melodies, infectious rhythms, and unmistakable New York attitude has kept audiences dancing around the world for decades.

Sharing the stage, Red Dirt Ruckus brings a distinctly local flavor to the evening. Hailing from the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, the band has spent more than a decade developing its own high-energy sound, affectionately dubbed “Foothill Rudegrass.” Combining bluegrass instrumentation, reggae influences, and a healthy dose of funk, Red Dirt Ruckus delivers an original musical experience that is as unpredictable as it is danceable.
