- ➤ Folsom Bike Park at Cummings Park is being revamped through a public-private partnership between Folsom Auburn Trail Riders Action Coalition & City of Folsom; construction starts this fall with a grand reopening planned for summer featuring new pump tracks, skills zones and ramps. Folsom Times
- ➤ The Folsom Public Library will host the 7th Annual LEGO Building Contest with the Adventure theme as entries are accepted from Jan. 20 to Jan. 24 and public voting will take place on Jan. 24 between 2 and 4 p.m. Winners will earn gift cards, certificates, and additional recognition. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Folsom residents can attend a community event as Holocaust survivor Eva Schneider will share her firsthand testimony on Sunday, Jan. 25 at 3 p.m. at the Folsom Community Center (52 Natoma St.) to emphasize the importance of preserving memory. Folsom Times
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Folsom High School freshman Isabel Feng (a talented pianist) has advanced to the MTNA National Junior Piano Competition finals after winning the first round. She will compete nationally soon as one of the top young pianists. Folsom Times
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Residents can join two volunteer programs to support local public safety. Applications for the Folsom Citizens Assisting Public Safety program open Jan. 15 with a Feb. 2 deadline, and the CERT Basic Academy offers free training sessions from March 19 to April 2. Folsom Times
