EDUCATION NEWS

  • Folsom business owner Nick Clark was selected to co-lead an international yoga teacher training that spotlights local wellness. Clark of Spotted Dog Yoga & SUP will guide Journey Into Power: Level One, which builds leadership and personal growth through a blend of practice and coaching.  Folsom Times

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • SMUD is offering increased rebates to help homeowners switch from gas to electric heat pump systems & lower energy bills, offering up to $4,000 for water heater conversions and $3,000 for HVAC upgrades. The incentives, effective this month, aim to ease the transition after federal and state credits expired.  Folsom Times
  • California State Parks and Coastal Commission are inviting community members aged 15 and up to join the 2026 Dockwalker Program, a volunteer-driven initiative that trains volunteers to educate boaters on clean practices on waterways. Free sessions (virtual and in-person) start in March and run through May, earning community service hours.  Folsom Times
  • Heavy snow and rain have swelled Folsom Lake to 114% of average, leading to localized flooding and hazardous travel conditions today; forecasters warn that additional precipitation will fall overnight (with lower snow levels possible), further challenging regional travel.  Folsom Times

HEALTH NEWS

  • Folsom’s Symmetry for Health received a Notice of Allowance from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for its patented AlignSmart® system (which improves musculoskeletal stability and long-term outcomes). The company will soon boost practitioner certification and expand local wellness partnerships.  Folsom Times

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • New home sales in the greater Sacramento area surged 79% in January with 605 homes sold compared to 338 in December. Roseville and Rancho Cordova led the market—Folsom registered 19 sales in the eight-county region.  Folsom Times
