- ➤ Wendy’s announced that its Folsom locations at 1101 Riley Street and 2505 Iron Point Road will close before mid-March as part of a national downsizing plan. The closures end the fast-food chain’s longtime service in the city. Folsom Times
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Starting Thursday, Mar. 5, a four-day series of free dance lessons plus live country music begins at Powerhouse Pub in Historic Folsom; Gotcha Country leads the opening night at 7 p.m. while later events feature tribute sets and DJ-driven parties for adults 21+. Folsom Times
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Folsom Cordova Unified School District is strengthening its CTE programs, linking classroom learning to careers like patient care, engineering, and design. Nearly half of the high schoolers join job shadow and internship events that build local partnerships + highlight awards and new skills. Folsom Times
- ➤ Folsom student Gemma Frisch and partner Alexandra Wallace placed second runner-up in a regional high school business competition by NAWBO and Junior Achievement, earning a $100 award for their Specialized Care for Kids app. They will be honored on March 7 at the Outstanding Women Leaders Gala.
