- ➤ Bradshaw Animal Shelter will host a free adoption event on May 16 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 3839 Bradshaw Road in Sacramento County where hundreds of animals and over 100 vendors, food trucks and canine yoga demonstrations give families a chance to add a new pet. KCRA
- ➤ Folsom residents are invited to help local families as the National Association of Letter Carriers leads the 34th Annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive this Saturday, with non-perishable items such as cereals + pastas and canned goods accepted at local mailboxes and post offices. KCRA

- ➤ Former figure skater and Olympic gold medalist Kristi Yamaguchi read her book Cara’s Kindness to students at Hazel Strauch Elementary School on Monday, May 4. Her Always Reading program provided purple tablets + a digital library app to boost classroom literacy. Capital Public Radio
