- ➤ The annual Big Day of Giving returns today, opening a 24-hour window for donations to 855 nonprofits in the region. Donors can use an online tool — accepting cash or stocks — to support causes as part of a tradition that has raised about $117 million since 2013. KCRA
- ➤ At midnight today, Sacramento Region Community Foundation launched the Big Day of Giving, a fundraiser lasting 24 hours that supports 900 nonprofits in Sacramento, Placer, El Dorado and Yolo counties and has raised over $117 million since 2013. (It supports groups helping animals, the environment, veterans, children, and cancer research.) KCRA

- ➤ Sacramento-based Sparkz Inc unveiled SparksCore22, a new lithium power bank (its first product since the 2024 facility launch) designed for data centers and home use. CEO Sanjiv Malhotra said the product builds on the company’s complete, in-house battery system production in Sacramento. KCRA

- ➤ California gas prices average $6.16 per gallon today, an increase of $0.03 since yesterday—prompting Folsom drivers to adjust trip patterns and consider fuel-saving options like EVs ahead of upcoming Memorial Day travel. KCRA
