- ➤ Folsom Times announced that voting is now open for the Best of Times 2025 community awards, a program that honors favorites in local business, service, and hospitality. The public can vote online until the end of July (winners will be named soon after voting closes). Folsom Times
- ➤ Folsom’s Steve Miklos Aquatic Center at 1200 Riley Street — adjacent to Lembi Park — will open for its 2025 season on Saturday, May 24, offering three pools, swim lessons and family recreation options. The City’s spray parks will open Friday, May 23 and operate daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. until September 27. Folsom Times
- ➤ Today, the Sacramento County Fair begins at Cal Expo with five days of events under the Cowboy Boots & Fair Roots theme. More than 100,000 visitors are expected to enjoy live music, motorsports, animal exhibits, and carnival rides (including Grandstand events like truck pulls, rodeo, and a destruction derby) as they explore ticket options online or at the gate. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Folsom firefighters quickly controlled a vegetation fire that began around 9:25 a.m. beneath Rainbow Bridge and along Johnny Cash Trail near 405 Leidesdorff Street on Wednesday, and police closed the area to traffic while crews worked on muddy, steep ground—no injuries or property damage were reported. - ➤ Folsom Police Chief Rick Hillman announced he will retire on June 30 after 30 years of service and significant leadership, and the city will soon begin its search for a new chief. KCRA
