  • More than 200 migrant workers and families started a three-day walk from Vacaville to Sacramento Saturday morning at Andrews Park to protest ICE raids and demand immigrant rights — organizers will hold a press conference at the State Capitol Monday to urge lawmakers to support a path to citizenship.  KCRA

  • Five people were rescued from the American River near Carmichael Saturday afternoon—crews reached them after their raft popped on a tree, leaving them stranded on an island, and no injuries were reported.  KCRA

  • Blues guitarist Chris Cain will perform today at Powerhouse Pub at 3 p.m.—he will bring his soulful style and dynamic talent to Historic Folsom, drawing fans for a true blues masterclass.  Folsom Times

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Data from the California Department of Finance shows Folsom’s population reached 92,577 by January 1 with 3,581 new residents and a 4% growth rate, while 1,012 new single-family homes were added in 2024 — a pace that far exceeds the state average.  Folsom Times

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Folsom City Council will review budget options at its Tuesday, June 10 meeting as city officials plan to cut Natoma Station maintenance services beginning July 1—rising costs and an unchanged $91.70 assessment rate have forced the change. Residents are urged to attend the meeting to learn how these adjustments will affect neighborhood upkeep.  Folsom Times
