Country music fans in Folsom will enjoy a free outdoor performance by a band from the Sacramento region, Brisco County, at Palladio Piazza this Friday.

The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. and lasts until 9:30 p.m.—guests should bring lawn chairs and arrive early to experience fun live music and local dining.

Caltrans said the Fix50 project on Highway 50—aimed at repaving roads and adding carpool lanes—will take an extra year and cost $28 million more as extra concrete work, weather, and crashes push the 14-mile project’s finish from next July to summer 2026, frustrating local drivers.

Federal data show that California roads are rated 40.2% good, 35.8% fair and 24% poor as the state ranks 32nd in the nation for good road miles.

A section of Folsom Boulevard at 9594 Folsom Blvd — part of the main route from Sacramento to Folsom — has an IRI of 1579, making it the 14th worst road in the state.

City leaders and officials from Sutter Health and Elliott Homes met on Wednesday to break ground on the new 145M facility in Folsom—this state-of-the-art complex will offer a cancer center, urgent care, and outpatient surgery and is set to start construction by the end of 2025 and finish in 2026. The project aims to boost medical care for Folsom, the Highway 50 corridor, and nearby communities.
