➤ Caltrans said the Fix50 project on Highway 50—aimed at repaving roads and adding carpool lanes—will take an extra year and cost $28 million more as extra concrete work, weather, and crashes push the 14-mile project’s finish from next July to summer 2026, frustrating local drivers. KCRA
➤ Federal data show that California roads are rated 40.2% good, 35.8% fair and 24% poor as the state ranks 32nd in the nation for good road miles.
