- ➤ Folsom will host its annual Historic Hometown Parade on June 28 at 9:30 a.m. in the Historic District, featuring marching bands, vintage cars, equestrian units, and festive floats — thousands of residents are expected along Sutter Street. The celebrations start on Friday, June 27 with the Hometown Country Radio Show at the Zittel Family Amphitheater from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. — local restaurateur Eric Adams will serve as Grand Marshal. - ➤ Celebrate Recovery Folsom is hosting a free event with live music and inspiring stories at Zittel Family Amphitheater in Historic Folsom on Tuesday, June 24 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.—attendees can come early to enjoy meals on Sutter Street or bring a picnic along with lawn chairs for comfort. - ➤ City officials, Choose Folsom representatives and Sacramento County dignitaries broke ground on Southpointe at Folsom Ranch on Friday, starting Phase 1 of a commercial development set to offer over 90,000 square feet of retail, office and medical space—strategically placed near new housing and local amenities. - ➤ Residents served by SMUD will face a 3% rate hike in 2026 and another in 2027, which will raise the average monthly bill by about $4.35 and $4.48 respectively as the utility boosts wildfire prevention and grid upgrades + it said its rates remain much lower than PG&E’s. Folsom Times
