- ➤ After Fourth of July fireworks spooked many pets, local animal shelters took in over 60 lost dogs—Bradshaw Animal Shelter reported at least 37 while Front Street Animal Shelter saw over 30—and are reuniting them with owners while waiving reclaim fees until July 10. - ➤ Folsom local shops are partnering in the Find Waldo Local scavenger hunt this July—mini Waldos are hidden at 23 locations including the Folsom Public Library, Snooks Candies, Brainy Zoo Toys, and the Folsom History Museum. Participants who spot Waldos at 15 or more shops will earn a grand prize entry with a $100 cash drawing and extra prizes at a community celebration at Ruby’s Books on August 3 at 4 p.m. Folsom Times

- ➤ Yasash Palem, an 11th grader at Ponderosa High School, was selected to serve as a delegate at the Congress of Future Medical Leaders at University of Massachusetts Lowell campus+ where top students learn about medical research and new ways to improve medicine.
