- ➤ Thursday evening, the awards ceremony recognized standout entries from the Historic Folsom Hometown Parade held before Independence Day—over 80 entries competed in the record-breaking event. Grand Marshal Eric Adams presented five awards, including the Grand Marshal’s Choice of Excellence to local singer-songwriter Cynthia Renee, Best Commercial Entry to Quick Quack Car Wash, Committee’s Choice to Dignity Health Mercy Hospital, Most Unique Entry to the Sutter Street Saloon Gals and Buckaroos, and Best of Folsom to the Folsom High School Marching Band. - ➤ Peter Ackers, a 30-year member who served as Grand Worthy President and led national support for causes like Parkinson’s research, has returned to Folsom after a landmark year of service—his leadership earned national acclaim—and the Folsom Eagles Lodge will host a two-day homecoming celebration on August 8 at noon and August 9 with public daytime events.
