- ➤ Today, local community members can sign up for the 12th annual Folsom Community Service Day set for Saturday, September 20 as volunteers choose projects like beautifying schools, parks, collecting food, and restoring trails. - ➤ This past Friday, Mount Olive Lutheran Church hosted the Back 2 School Extravaganza where 371 children from 151 families received backpacks, free haircuts, books, and health check-ups—helping them gear up for the new school year with support from Twin Lakes Food Bank, local businesses, and volunteers. - ➤ Folsom police records from July 29 to August 3, 2025 show multiple incidents—including a fentanyl overdose where Narcan was given to two subjects and an online gold fraud where unknown suspects defrauded a victim—along with various DUI citations, thefts, and arrests occurring throughout the community. - ➤ Chefs are preparing the menu for the sold-out Tower Bridge Dinner on September 7 as part of the Farm-to-Fork Festival, focusing on indigenous food of the Americas. Jeana Pecha of Omakase Por Favor and Bucky Bray of Nixtaco Folsom have designed a three-course meal with dishes like ash-crusted albacore, blue corn rabbit tamal, and braised California bison—highlighting indigenous ingredients and cultural influences.
