Good morning, Folsom.
🎭 Culture
The Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary will host National Honey Bee Day on Saturday, August 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Visitors will see educational displays, live demonstrations, and honey tasting tables — zoo admission rates apply.
Tom Rigney and Flambeau will perform at the Historic Folsom Amphitheater at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 14, offering a free concert that blends Cajun, zydeco and roots rock—guests can bring lawn chairs and enjoy local food before the show.
🎓 Education
Registration is open for Folsom’s Fun Factory Preschool Program at the Andy Morin Sports Complex, where classes run full school year from September to May for children turning 3 by September 30.
The program, run by Folsom Parks & Recreation, offers morning sessions on Monday/Wednesday/Friday or Tuesday/Thursday—with a new combined class for 3- and 4-year-olds available.
Hands4Hope has paused its on-campus programs at Sutter Middle School, Folsom Middle, Folsom High, and Vista del Lago High due to financial strain and the lack of broader community support—without new funds, youth service projects may remain suspended.
The organization is calling on residents, businesses, and civic groups to contribute funds and volunteer time to help these programs reopen.
