- ➤ Thunder Cover performed Friday from 8 to 10 p.m. at Red Hawk Resort Casino’s vibrant Stage Bar, and the Ariel Jean Band will perform today from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.—both shows are free with first-come seating. Folsom Times
- ➤ Circus Vargas is coming to Folsom later this month with its new show Hollywood Dreams from September 25 through October 6; the striped tent will be set up near Oak Avenue Parkway and East Bidwell Street—next to Lakeside Church. The performance will feature aerialists, acrobats, comedians and stunt acts in an animal-free show that brings the magic of old Hollywood to life. Folsom Times
- ➤ California's premier all-female AC/DC tribute band Herway to Hell and local rock group AWARE will perform today at The Boardwalk in Orangevale starting at 8:00 p.m.—the event is for ages 21 and over and is presented by James Elliot Entertainment. - ➤ Tickets are on sale now for the annual Spirits, Brews & Bites event—set for Saturday, October 18 from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.—which will feature craft beverages, tasty bites, festive costumes and live music along Sutter Street. - ➤ Folsom's Community Development Department submitted a report with proposed Affordable Housing Loan Program Guidelines to set clear rules for city-backed affordable housing loans through the Folsom Housing Fund and Housing Trust Fund—if approved, the new framework will reduce reliance on outside consultants and better manage limited funds. - ➤ Folsom approved a project on August 26 to replace decades-old valves at Willow Hill Dam, with work scheduled to start in August 2026 and finish in about six months—ensuring the water system stays safe and reliable. The project, the final part of the city’s Water System Rehabilitation Project No. 1, is funded through the Fiscal Year 2025–26 Capital Improvement Budget. Folsom Times
- ➤ Folsom is moving forward with the Riley Street Safety Improvement Project today to fix sidewalks, drainage, and safety issues along a busy corridor—city leaders have signed a design and engineering consultant agreement with R.E.Y. Engineers to kick off work. The project will use federal and local funds to complete the first design and environmental review steps before moving onto construction. Folsom Times
- ➤ On Aug. 26 (approved by Folsom City Council), Elliott Homes agreed to pay $2.5M toward a pedestrian bridge linking Broadstone Crossing and the Palladio shopping area. The project will include roadway improvements and aims to be finished within 10 years (or 5 years if matching funds are secured), ensuring safe access near the new Sutter Health complex. Folsom Times
