  • Folsom’s Chick-fil-A at 2679 E. Bidwell Street will continue serving customers today as its planned 90-day remodel closure has been postponed to Oct. 9—giving management extra time to complete renovation plans. During the remodel, 85 employees will be temporarily laid off—while local fans may opt for nearby alternative locations.  Folsom Times

CULTURE NEWS

  • Folsom’s Circus Vargas featured ringmaster Johnathan Lee Iverson last night as he led the show with a career that began with the Boys Choir of Harlem and made history as the first African American ringmaster. The performance will run until October 5—captivating local audiences with a blend of tradition and live excitement.  Folsom Times
  • The 33rd Annual Folsom Renaissance Faire & Jousting Championships will transform Lions Park into an interactive Elizabethan village this weekend—Saturday tickets are sold out and Sunday tickets remain available online.   • In September, Folsom Cordova Unified School District’s chronic absenteeism rate fell from 23.5 percent to 14.5 percent over three years through efforts by teachers, staff, and families—State Superintendent Tony Thurmond visited Williamson Elementary to launch the new California Attendance Guide—emphasizing that every day counts.  Folsom Times

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Folsom City Council approved a budget resolution on Tuesday that matched spending with funds approved earlier and ended years of overspending—this change comes as the new City Manager teams up with council member Anna Rohrbough to build a transparent, stable financial plan for the city.  Folsom Times

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Year-to-date data show Folsom’s average sold home price dipped 3% to just above $800,000 while its home listings increased 33%, whereas El Dorado Hills saw its average tick up 3% to over $1.1 million with sales rising 7%.
