CULTURE NEWS

  • Sutter Street Theatre in Folsom will present Haunted Houses — a family-friendly play exploring ghost stories and childhood fears that opens October 4 and runs weekends until November 2. Directed by Allen Schmeltz and written by Kathryn Schultz Miller, the production offers an intimate live arts experience in a historic venue.  Folsom Times

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Construction crews will break ground on September 29 for the Mangini Ranch Trails Project in Folsom Ranch to build about 2.5 miles of multi-use trails and install a traffic signal near Alder Creek Elementary School—part of a nine-month effort to link nearby neighborhoods, parks and schools.  Folsom Times
  • Folsom’s Waste and Recycling Division will conduct its annual route reviews throughout October to check if residents sort waste correctly by inspecting bins curbside between 7 and 9 a.m.—city staff will tag bins as 'Keep up the Good Work' if clean or 'Oops' if over 10% of the contents are contaminated while no fines are issued.  Folsom Times
  • Caltrans announced that westbound I-80 is closed from the I-5 interchange in Sacramento to the Highway 50 interchange in Yolo County—its closure began Friday at 9 p.m. and will continue until Monday at 4 a.m. Drivers must use detour routes and expect delays.  KCRA
