Sutter Street Theatre in Folsom will present Haunted Houses — a family-friendly play exploring ghost stories and childhood fears that opens October 4 and runs weekends until November 2.

Directed by Allen Schmeltz and written by Kathryn Schultz Miller, the production offers an intimate live arts experience in a historic venue.

Construction crews will break ground on September 29 for the Mangini Ranch Trails Project in Folsom Ranch to build about 2.5 miles of multi-use trails and install a traffic signal near Alder Creek Elementary School—part of a nine-month effort to link nearby neighborhoods, parks and schools.

Folsom’s Waste and Recycling Division will conduct its annual route reviews throughout October to check if residents sort waste correctly by inspecting bins curbside between 7 and 9 a.m.—city staff will tag bins as 'Keep up the Good Work' if clean or 'Oops' if over 10% of the contents are contaminated while no fines are issued.

Caltrans announced that westbound I-80 is closed from the I-5 interchange in Sacramento to the Highway 50 interchange in Yolo County—its closure began Friday at 9 p.m. and will continue until Monday at 4 a.m. Drivers must use detour routes and expect delays.
