SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Ironman California will take place in Sacramento on Sunday, Oct. 19, where 3,400 athletes will swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles, and run a marathon as part of a 140.6-mile triathlon. Organizers need 2,500 volunteers over a five-day period to support the athletes by offering safety checks and pep talks along the route — groups may also apply for a $20,000 grant from the Ironman Foundation.
