- ➤ The 15th Annual Break Free Run is held today at Lakeside Church on Oak Avenue Parkway and offers 5K, 10K, and Kids Fun Run races to support ending human trafficking—participants should arrive by 8 a.m. as vendors and families enjoy activities until 12 p.m.—all while raising funds for survivor support. - ➤ Today, nearly 4,000 people attended the Folsom Family Expo at the Palladio, which featured 65 vendors and activities for families—organizers say the record turnout will help local businesses and set the stage for next year’s plans. Folsom Times
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Folsom Bound is a seven-foot-tall outdoor sculpture by Philip Sciortino that stands near the light rail tracks on Leidesdorff Plaza and shows images like a puma above a deer and a train wheel to make people look twice. It is a joint project with regional transit and the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission that honors the history of California’s first passenger railroad and celebrates the many people who helped build it. - ➤ Folsom’s Sutter Street Theatre announced an extended run of Evil Dead: The Musical through November 16 to meet overwhelming demand. The interactive production will perform on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m.—and on Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. at the local venue. Folsom Times
- ➤ At Powerhouse Pub in Historic Folsom, live music kicked off Friday with Green Grass Snakes at 7 p.m. and Supergroove at 10 p.m.—today, Chicago — The Tribute will perform at 5:30 p.m. and Now That’s What I Call 90s will start at 10 p.m.—Lydia Pense and Cold Blood are slated to appear Sunday at 3 p.m. Folsom Times

- ➤ Folsom High School crowned seniors Travis Sky Gama and Noutrie Mounlaphasith as Homecoming King and Queen during halftime at Prairie City Stadium on Friday—capping a week of events featuring a Homecoming Parade in Historic Folsom and a 48 to 7 win over Whitney High. Folsom Times
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Friday night, the Folsom Bulldogs improved their unbeaten record with a 48 to 7 win in a homecoming game at Prairie City Stadium led by quarterback Ryder Lyons and running back Bronson Bambino—other local teams also shined as Oak Ridge beat Monte Vista 38 to 13, Granite Bay edged Rocklin 29 to 20, Del Oro rallied past Jesuit 29 to 16, and Cordova was shut out 62 to 0.
