- ➤ Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary will host its annual Wild Howl-O-Ween celebration on Saturday, October 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event offers a treat trail, costume festivities, and animal encounters, and admission is $12.99 per person (children under 2 free) to support care for rescued animals. - ➤ Historic Folsom will host a full day of Halloween fun on Oct. 25—featuring Festifall trick-or-treating along Sutter Street, a free preview of Sleeping Beauty and a Kids Costume Contest at Zittel Family Amphitheater, and a spooky circus starting at 6:30 p.m. Earlier, families can visit the Folsom Police Department for Trunk or Treat from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.—and the city zoo for Wild Howl-O-Ween from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Folsom Times

- ➤ House of Jade, a 49-year-old store known for its jade jewelry and Asian furniture on Sutter Street, will close on Oct. 31 as owner Ken Snyder, 92, and his son Mark retire. - ➤ Vista Del Lago High School was awarded a $20,000 shopping spree from Best Buy through the Intel Learning Competition at the Folsom store, and the funds will upgrade its College and Career Center and provide new tools for teachers while district staff ensure proper tech integration. Folsom Times
- ➤ Volunteers from Lowe’s and school parents worked together last week to refresh Cordova Meadows Elementary's garden by sweeping, painting, and preparing planting beds—new tables, chairs, and benches were added with funding from Lowe’s Hometowns initiative. - ➤ Sacramento County’s biannual update showed more unhoused residents were connected to housing and care between January and June 2025—services that included case management and behavioral health support.
