- ➤ Folsom will host three family-friendly Halloween events on October 25—Public Safety Trunk-or-Treat at the police station from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 46 Natoma Street, Wild Howl-O-Ween at the city zoo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Festifall in Historic Folsom starting at 1 p.m.—designed to offer safe fun with treats, costumes, and interactive displays for the community. - ➤ Today, Powerhouse Pub in Historic Folsom hosts live music with Granite City 909 playing at 6:30 p.m. and the Ariel Marin Band at 10:00 p.m.—the weekend also brings a Halloween dance party with a costume contest on Saturday and a blues show by Big Mo on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. Folsom Times
- ➤ Folsom High School Music Boosters will host the 22nd Annual Folsom Fall Festival Marching Band Competition on November 1 at Prairie City Stadium from 7 to 10 p.m., featuring top high school bands from across Northern California and an exhibition by the award-winning Folsom band — ticket prices are $15 for general entry —, with proceeds benefiting local music education. - ➤ Nashville recording artist Cynthia Renee will light up the Folsom Hotel Saloon on Saturday as she returns to her hometown stage with original country tunes and classic hits — doors open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m. Folsom Times

- ➤ Folsom Cordova Unified School District announced that graduation ceremonies for its three high schools will remain on campus after community feedback. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Due to the federal shutdown, Sacramento County officials warned that CalFresh funding for November is paused and thousands of local residents are turning to Folsom food banks for emergency support—county staff are alerting recipients with texts and partnering with local organizations to manage the increased demand. Residents with existing EBT balances can still use their funds, while new monthly benefits remain on hold until the government reopens. Folsom Times

- ➤ In Folsom, the real-estate market stayed steady as homes sold faster with prices averaging just under $800,000 despite limited inventory while buyers became more selective.
