- ➤ Friends of Folsom will host their 16th Annual Turkey Drive at the Zittel Family Amphitheater on Saturday — the event will feature live music from the 1980s tribute band The Spazmatics and a pre-party at City Slickers with admissions of $20 or a frozen turkey. Donations will help feed local families and support food banks amid shortages from the federal shutdown. Folsom Times
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Teacher Nancy Preto now works at Oak Chan Elementary with three former fourth grade students who returned as colleagues—kindergarten teacher Caroline Coffman, custodian Dylan Lundberg-Wilson, and yard supervisor Katie Bielefield. They join the district’s Legacy Employees tradition that honors those who once learned at the school. Folsom Times
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Motorists will face a complete closure of Iron Point Road between East Bidwell Street and Cavitt Drive from 9 p.m. November 2 until November 7 as crews install a new water pipeline; drivers should use detours along Broadstone Parkway and Cavitt Drive—expect extra travel time during construction.
