- ➤ The Marine Corps celebrated its 250th birthday with a ball in Folsom Monday night—honoring Marines who served and sacrificed, including those who lost their lives in combat. Vietnam veteran Benjamin Palacios and local organizers aimed to inspire young people to consider service in the Marine Corps through live music, raffles, and tributes. KCRA
- ➤ Mimosa is a one-year-old Border Collie and Australian Cattle Dog mix at Sacramento County Animal Care Services’ Bradshaw Shelter and is looking for a loving home. The shelter is open Tuesday through Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. with extended hours on Wednesdays — visit to meet her. Folsom Times

- ➤ Assemblyman Hoover announced that Stuart McIntyre has been named the 2025 Veteran of the Year for California’s 7th Assembly District.
