- ➤ The Sacramento County Office of Education and SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union hosted a backpack challenge on Wednesday, August 13th to fill 400 backpacks with school supplies and hygiene kits for foster and homeless students. Employees from both organizations had five minutes to pack the bags, and 150 of the backpacks will be distributed to students who face homelessness—ensuring they have essential items to start the school year. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Mayor Sarah Aquino honored the Folsom American Little League 10U All-Stars for their championship season during the August 12 council meeting at City Hall, praising the team for winning multiple tournaments and the District 54 Championship. The team advanced to the State Tournament in Eureka and received a formal resolution from the council — a recognition of its record-breaking run — while coaches and families were also thanked for their dedication.
